UNITED BULAWAYO HOSPITALS BOOST BREAST CANCER CARE WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING

United Bulawayo Hospitals has taken a significant step forward in supporting women’s health with the arrival of advanced equipment aimed at improving breast cancer detection and patient registration.
Yesterday, the hospital received three laptops and three printers, which will be distributed among the three clinics dedicated to breast cancer care in Matebeleland and Bulawayo: United Bulawayo Hospitals, Gwanda, and Beitbridge District Hospitals. Additionally, the hospital acquired a handheld Clarius ultrasound scanner, enhancing point-of-care breast cancer screening.
This crucial equipment was provided through a partnership between ABS and United Bulawayo Hospitals, facilitated by local surgeon Dr. Munyaradzi Magara. Nurses have also been trained in screening of breast cancer in patients and are playing a pivotal role in detecting cases early, alongside the new technology.
