Physiotherapy

The Rehabilitation Department at United Bulawayo Hospitals provides comprehensive rehabilitation for patients from newborn babies to elderly patients in order to achieve their highest possible level of function and independence.

The department comprises Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Audiologist and Rehabilitation Technicians. We cover both in and out patients.

Some of the conditions we attend to include:

Orthopaedics e.g.  Low back pain, soft tissue injuries, fractures, hand injuries, post operative conditions etc.

Neurological e.g. Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal cord injuries, head injuries, hydrocephalus and Down Syndrome etc.

Cardiorespiratory e.g. Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Airway Disease, heart conditions etc.

Burns and complications of burns, e.g. Kelloids

Other conditions include delayed milestones, HIV related complications, peripheral neuropathies, urinary incontinence, psycho-social e.g. depression and anxiety etc.

Medical conditions for instance diabetic foot, cancer, kidney diseases etc.

We are situated on the 2nd Floor of the Main Hospital.

Hours of Operation

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, after 4pm on call service

Wednesdays-Clubfoot Clinic

Thursdays-Paediatric Neuro Clinic

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays-On-call personnel for emergency cases and Intensive Care Units.
